Castle Hotel near Sleepy Hollow, NY, Tuesday Morning

The weather around Sleepy Hollow was still delightfully October-y: crisp and cool, but sunny enough to draw people outside. There was a whole new day of things planned for the folks from Fandom - at least the ones who weren't sleeping in or hungover!

Hotel-- Room 209

Last night had ended pretty well - and as a result, Dante strolled into the room sometime halfway into the morning, flopping over on the bed.

He'd get up again in a few hours. It wasn't so much that he was sleeping off a hangover; more like a buzz. A nice one.

Khadgar had to admit, the food he'd eaten in the last few months was spoiling him for Azeroth's food forever. He'd gotten up a little early and headed for breakfast with a book, and was currently enjoying the best part of the breakfast service--how every time his coffee cup became empty, someone came around to refill it.

To be perfectly honest, unless activities came up that were less-nature-more-stabby, this was where you were going to find Surreal all week. Acting like a lazy lazy cat.

A staff member had convinced her to come in to the yoga class, and she was actually quite enjoying the stretching. She was going to need to learn more of this yoga, it was an exercise that that would help keep her in shape for both her professions, but wouldn't give her away like sparring.

Rufus enjoyed exploring, partially because he so rarely had the freedom to do so at home, so he took the morning to thoroughly investigate the hotel's grounds.

The life-sized chess set got more than a few pictures taken of it, no lie.

It appealed to him.

So Dante was broke and bored, and wandering around in nature seemed like the absolutely last thing he wanted to do with his life. Which landed him at the lighthouse, in the middle of a tour group.

He spent way more time cracking sarcastic remarks at the tour guide and hitting on one of his fellow tour group members than he did actually listening to anything the guide had to say.

So. Peridot was watching the birds. There were birds, and she was watching them.

"I don't get it. Are they supposed to do something?"

She was pretty sure there was a trick to this that she was missing. So she was going to just stare at birds until she figured out what it was.

Kanan had never seen a horse before in his life, but he found himself almost immediately intrigued by the creatures, which reminded him of some sort of strange cross between an eopie and a kybuck. He took a few minutes to acquaint himself with one of the animals, and when one of the riding instructors noted that he seemed to have a way with them, given that he'd picked one of the more moody ones, well...

Kanan's morning was going to be spent on horseback, taking in the sights of the preserve. If he and the horse wandered from the beaten path and were prone to hitting flat-out gallops whenever the terrain allowed, that suited them both just fine.

Steve had found a nice spot to enjoy the crisp air and sketch the view. It was pretty amazing, even if the bugs were annoying as anything.

City boy forever...

It had been quite some time since Cassandra had last ridden a horse. Back home, it had been a practical thing, not something you did for fun-- but as she eyed the creatures at the preserve, she found that she had missed it.

She tugged her ponytail loose, got on the horse, and rode - urging her horse on to pick up speed.

She had missed this sense of freedom, in a way. None of the island's methods of transportation truly compared.

Anders took a peaceful wander through the woods that ended at the stables. He stayed there for a while, idly watching the handsome horses while he tried to decide whether he wanted to take a ride or figure out what geocaching was.
