Bali Hai, all day

On one of the many beaches is a one-stop-shop for island fun and adventure. The main building, which looks remarkably like a beach hut, only larger, hires out surf equipment and snorkelling gear.

Just past it a little ways is a stable where you can hire a horse for an hour or a day, and gallop on the beach.

[ooc: You can play in this post, or use it as a jumping off point for your own posts, today or any other day!]

River had never tried surfing, but she assumed it couldn't be too difficult. She knew water, after all, and the movement of the waves.

To her surprise the surf board was less cooperative than she had expected, and it took her a while to get an idea of how to use it. Observing others with more experience proved necessary.

Amber was collecting seashells and enjoying the beautiful day. Maybe in just a bit she'd actually get in the ocean and do a bit of snorkeling.

[Open, but I'll be AFK till later today. So if you don't mind sp, yay!]

Meg was by no means a good surfer but she wasn't friends with Dick Casablancas for nothing. She could get up on a board and not make a huge ass of herself. Which is what she was doing right now. She was a little out of practice but she hadn't wiped out completely yet.

Liz had never tried snorkeling before and she decided that she wanted to have a go at it.

Brooke would be getting into the water later on, because how could she not? But for now, she was going to hang out on the beach, do some tanning, and see what the guys were like here.

Surfing was a great benefit of this new island. It felt like ages since he'd had the chance to surf, but he wasn't too concerned about wiping out. It was part of the fun of the experience.

John waved at Meg? Jo? Meg? He didn't know, as he paddled out.

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey John!" The cheerfulness might have given her identity away. "I didn't know you surfed."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Meg! I do, there just aren't very good waves in Virginia," he explained, hoping he'd guessed right. "I was missing the Pacific."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"I was too," she admitted. "East Coast waves just aren't the same."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"This moving island stuff has its perks," John decided. "You been out here long?"

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not too long. I haven't even had a major wipeout yet," Meg said, grinning. "It's not a good day of surfing unless you get a bruise or two."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"I hear that," John grinned, because he needed more bruises. "It's not a real sport if you're not a second away from a potential concussion."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't agree more. That's how I know cheerleading is a real sport," Meg said. "I've seen girls get pretty beat up. Especially when they accidentally get dropped."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
John looked shifty. "I haven't dropped anyone yet." Give him time. "Though I probably will if anyone kicks me in the head."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"See, in Neptune usually when girls get dropped it's because the flyer was sleeping with the base's boyfriend," Meg said, smirking. The word 'accidental' was what always showed up on the medical records. "So I don't think you have too much to worry about. Unless you're really clumsy, of course."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Good thing I'm a secure guy or you'd have me watching the other cheerleaders," John teased. He was ignoring that all of them were rather taken for the sake of entertainment.

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
"I think our cheerleaders are smarter than to sleep significant other of the person who is holding them up during practice," Meg said. "If anything, they'll try to go after the spotter's boyfriend. It's less dangerous that way."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You know, all these significant others sound very questionable at your old school," John replied. "To be so easy to switch cheerleaders and all."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Neptune wasn't the most...wholesome place," Meg admitted. "But I was a good cheerleader, honest."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
"You're certainly cheerful enough," John agreed. "Which I mean in a good way. I've noticed some people fail to appreciate smiling and perkiness in others."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh trust me, I've noticed that too. Some people can't put up with me early in the morning," she said. Meg shrugged. "I don't understand it."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Those are probably the same people that don't see the point in running when it's cold outside," John sighed. "Sometimes it's fun to drag those people along to see their reactions."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Meg giggled. "Now that's just mean. Mean, but really, really funny."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Shh, don't tell anyone I'm using them for my own entertainment," he stage whispered. "They might have an uprising."

[identity profile] goodgirlmeg.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Your secret is safe with me," Meg said, nodding seriously.
