SPRING BREAK, Cyseal, Monday Morning
Good morning, Fandom!
And a good one it was: the sun was shining brightly, infusing the city with warmth. Birds were singing, and a gentle breeze wafted through town (it only faintly smelled like sulfur up in the northern quarters).
Time to get up, explore Cyseal, and make friends with the neighbors!

RE: Re: Cyseal - Market
She looked at the potion bottle. "Perhaps I should buy one." There was probably someone she could use it against.
Re: Cyseal - Market
"Why not?" Hannibal gave the shopkeeper a winning smile. "I imagine if we each bought one, we could get some sort of discount. Particularly if we can't be certain it will work at home."
Re: Cyseal - Market
At the attempt to haggle, the shopkeeper shook her head. "The price is low enough as it is. You won't find potions of this quality to the same price anywhere around here."
Perhaps because there was only one place selling potions.
Re: Cyseal - Market
"Both require a certain knowledge of anatomy and chemistry," he said to Lucille. "As well as the ability to use sharp objects to best effect," he added with a grin.
Re: Cyseal - Market
"It does make sense when you put it that way," she said. "I have little knowledge of any of it, I'm afraid." That was mostly true, anyway.
Re: Cyseal - Market
Re: Cyseal - Market
"I believe I would appreciate both." She smiled.

He didn't, as it happened, have a piano - but he did have a very nice harpsichord.
RE: Re: Cyseal - Market
She had never played a hapsichord but would be quite eager to try, if permitted
Re: Cyseal - Market
"You're very welcome." He nodded to her and to the shopkeeper and carefully pocketed the potion.
As he glanced in the other direction, his eyes fell upon the lockpicks, and he raised an eyebrow. "They do have all sorts of things, don't they?"

"Practicality," he answered, "and flexibility. The ability to see when something different might be required, and to not discard the solution because it isn't respectable or obvious."
RE: Re: Cyseal - Market
Re: Cyseal - Market
"It does," he agreed. "Perhaps the most important thing is knowing what it is you want. Knowing your own mind and heart, and being true to that, no matter what respectability - or even practicality - might dictate." He smiled. "I am a very firm believer in that."

Re: Cyseal - Market
"It can be," Hannibal agreed. "But the accomplishment can be all the more rewarding for the challenge. And I find going against your own inclinations and needs can be infinitely more difficult, as well as less rewarding."
