SPRING BREAK, Cyseal, Monday Morning

Good morning, Fandom!

And a good one it was: the sun was shining brightly, infusing the city with warmth. Birds were singing, and a gentle breeze wafted through town (it only faintly smelled like sulfur up in the northern quarters).

Time to get up, explore Cyseal, and make friends with the neighbors!

"Even if there's not the guard, there's the squirrels. Even if I don't care about what they say, reports about 'heroics' gets me less lectures about being a good example than ones picking fights in the street." What was Cara's life that she could say that?

She grinned and bumped her shoulder against Surreal's, if they weren't actively looking for a fight, she'd probably have gone for actual hand holding. "I'll make sure to scrub all the green off you when we get back tot he tavern."

Cara's feelings on the wilderness were more mixed than Surreal's, but she was always going to pick the hot bath at the end of the day over the cold lake.

"Mmmm...promise?" Surreal asked, perking up considerably. Murder and a nice hot bath? It was like Cara knew everything she liked.

It had been extremely hard to figure out, yes, but girlfriends were supposed to know things like that. Or something.

"You have my word," she said, leaning across to steal a kiss, not just because she could (though that was very high on the list), but also given much much the universe liked cockblocking Cara, it probably the best way to ensure someone murder worthy showed up to interrupt them.

"You are officially my favorite, sugar," she laughed, sealing that promise by returning the kiss.

Of course that's when the undead showed up. Because Darkness forbid either of them get a non-screwed-up private life.

Even though she'd expected something like this (because the universe hated her), and they were specifically looking for a fight, Cara couldn't keep herself from making a noise dangerously close to a whine as she broke the kiss and drew her agiels.

If looks could kill, the skeletons would already have stopped being a problem. "You want to take the left or the right?"
