Jurassic World - 11/10 - Sunday Night

After an interesting portal trip through at least three eras of history, Fandom's students and faculty were dropped off by the Isla Nublar ferry. Those who chose to stay outside and watch would be able to see the island approach, with all its lustrous forests, waterfalls, and high-tech facilities.

The weather was nice. The park was peaceful.

You can spot humpback whales on the way across the Costa Rican Pacific, but the mosasaurs are restricted to Jurassic World! Enjoy your journey across the water, assuming you don't get horrifically seasick.

The Hilton Isla Nublar is a five star resort, catering to your needs and with spectacular views of the surrounding areas.

Each room is equipped with two full beds or 1 king size ~~depending on which is funnier~~, a soaking tub, an amazing view, and a ridiculously expensive minibar.

The hotel serves a number of rocking prehistoric dining options. First up there's Fossil, the trendiest restaurant this side of the Triassic age. Other dining options include Herbivore Kitchen, showcasing produce foraged from the park, and Rex's Steak House, serving up some of the best cuts in Costa Rica.

If you'd like to go for a post- or pre-meal beverage, there's options! Saur Cocktail Bar serves fancy beverages on the rooftop overlooking the jungle; you can also choose to unwind at the more informal Steg's Tavern.

Dance until the dawn of a new era. DJ Kid Business has been waiting 65 million years to let the bass drop!

There's golf, a fitness center, tennis courts... anything your heart might desire. (Add your own OCD so people can find you!)

Aw, yeah. This place mostly looked like nerd heaven, but at least it had a club. And drinks. And hot tourists.

Dante snagged something heavily alcoholic and red, then hit the floor.

Cassandra, impatient as always, had rushed upstairs to get to the room almost immediately.

It earned her some strange looks, considering the armor, but she ignored that.

Now she was sitting on the bed, taking it off piece by piece. Well. At least nothing had attacked yet.

Now that the morning's hangover had worn off, Edward... had decided going to the tavern was a good idea. He had a large pint of ale set down in front of him, and now he was hanging back in his seat.

Starting to wake up now.

Atton spent the voyage hanging around at the front of the ship, watching the island get closer and closer. "Not nearly as good as star travel," he muttered.

This just gave him unfun flashbacks to Manaan.

Obi-Wan had no particular intention of getting drunk tonight. Rather, he came up to the roof and ordered a tea.

He was people-watching-- and if at any point his consciousness grew larger than that until he could sense each living creature below, one could hardly tell by his face.

Isabela hung over the railing, watching the whales and feeling the breeze on her face. This wasn't the Call, but it was still a ship on the open sea.

In a move surprising exactly no one, Isabela found the minibar almost immediately. Then discovered something else about the minibar.

"The drinks shrunk."

Kitty was a lifelong Cubs fan, who was on vacation during the playoffs. So first and foremost, she was making sure she could get a signal on all her devices because if she missed a clinching game she was gonna be inconsolable.

Frank glared at the minibar in anger. "The only part of this that isn't terrible is the adorable nature of the bottles," Frank said. "Fortunately, I came prepared."

And that's how the desk got taken over by a frightening amount of alcohol that Frank brought with him in case of exactly this.

Cara barely paid attention to the room in favour of collapsing onto the bed, but even that was enough to tell that this was far better than that boat last trip.

Anders appreciated the room, and was so excited by the minibar that he grabbed some peanut m&ms and a tiny bottle of wine before he read the price list.

"Right," he muttered. "No more tiny booze for me."

Alana meant to unpack as soon as she got to the room, but the view was so amazing she had a hard time leaving the balcony. She lingered there for several minutes, enjoying a tropical breeze as she watched the waterfall by the pool.

Cosima did not get seasick, which was a good thing because it meant she could be pressed up against the ship railing. She counted whales and hoped for a glimpse of a stray mososaur.

Thorin was pleased to find his lodgings were pleasant enough. For an island of dragons. And no, no he would never be over that part of it.

But for now, he was giving the small drinks a suspicious look. Were they a joke about his height? Damn menfolk.
