Pacific Princess, Wednesday Morning/Afternoon

For those of you not sleeping off hangovers due to last night's jaunt into the fictional future, it was a beautiful morning just off the Mexican coast. And about mid-morning, the ship would be pulling in to dock in Puerta Vallarta. If you do decide to head off onto dry land, just be sure to make it back before the ship leaves at 6pm sharp! And for those of you who don't feel like venturing too far, there's still plenty to do on the ship itself.

Atton sat down at a random buffet - he didn't even check if it was the least terrifying, which meant he'd wound up at the most terrifying - and ladeled anything onto his plate that looked vaguely edible.

Last night had put him in a contemplative mood. Don't take advantage of it, staff.

Old person activity or not, Amy was determined to learn to play shuffleboard.

She fiddled with the cue and nodded along while an old man explained the rules. It didn't sound too hard, but then there was the issue of whether she would find anyone to play with. And since this old guy's wife was already giving Amy the stink-eye from her chair, it wasn't going to be this family.

You know, Atton wasn't actually looking for a lot of excitement today. Getting off the ship, losing himself in the bustle of the boardwalk-- it was nice. He'd just.. wander.

Continuing that Jedi contemplation streak he'd been on since yesterday.

Travis found he wanted to do everything he could but decided to start out slow. That meant strolling down the boardwalk and stopping when things caught his eye. He was going to buy so much crap right now and he wasn't even going to regret it.

At some point during the day, Cosette managed to sneak in some time to get to the boardwalk and go shopping. She had to get something for her father, of course, and that was always a challenge: what to get him that would be practical enough that he wouldn't object too much about it, the way he always did about anything even the slightest bit above the 'bare essentials' category, but nice enough to be a proper gift? Maybe a new wallet, or a belt?

She also had it in mind to get something for Éponine, as well, even without having heard the radio broadcast yesterday. That was something new, and it amused her that she'd thought of that almost immediately after thinking of getting something for her father -- her father, who'd likely try to adopt the girl without a second thought if she weren't already so skittish about them being so nice to her. Well, maybe she'd come around to the idea eventually. At any rate, the awkward truce they had now was certainly a long way from their childhood, and it was a start, but Cosette had a feeling she'd have to apply the same criteria as she would in choosing a gift for her father. Even if she couldn't quite put her finger on why.

Oh, thank heavens - real food!

Hannibal was going to admire the art, of course, but mostly he was just going to enjoy some birria and some decent coffee, and charm some of the locals into selling him the good, handmade tortillas and some quality seafood.

Given all the 1970s American tourists around, the fact he was fluent in Spanish did half the work for him.

Gwen was so happy to be off the boat. Apparently when you spent a long time inside creepy lab buildings you got weird about being stuck in one place for too long, which was a thing she learned the last couple days. But now she was totally fine to wander around, and stopping into shops to find souvenirs for people back home.

Cara had taken the opportunity to get off the ship for a few hours before she did something someone would regret, and then of the market to acquire another change of clothing. The patterns and cuts weren't what she would've chosen, but but they were easy to move in, suited to the weather, and most importantly, not made of polyester.

Now she was wandering the rest of the stalls, intent on finding some recognisable food.

Oh, Cosette planned to cram every last little thing she could into her adventures today, but this particular excursion was at the top of her list.

Was she going to explore the jungle? Absolutely. Because it was an actual jungle instead of the pretend one she visualized every time she used to play in the convent garden. It even smelled jungle-y, if you asked her, not that she would know what exactly jungle was supposed to smell like. She'd probably just tell you it smelled like this.
