Tuesday Evening, Pacific Princess, Tuesday, February 24, 1978

Another evening on a Pacific Princess cruise, another theme! And tonight, it's Future Night! Well, the future as envisioned by people in 1978.

Jetpacks.

So. Many. Jetpacks.

Also, so much silver. And white. And needlessly rounded shapes. But mostly the white and the silver and the jetpacks. Man, they're gonna be disappointed in the future.

On day three, Kitty finally lost it in regards to her phone, and she was sitting on the bed, desperately searching through her bag in the hopes that there was anything in there that might give her a signal. There wasn't, of course, because she'd come unprepared for this sort of thing.

And when that of course failed, she maybe took to shaking it and saying, "Work!"

"Why," Cassandra said.

She stared down at the food suspended within the jiggly substance. It did not budge.

"Why," she repeated.

It wobbled.

Flick wasn't looking for a love connection, thank you, but he did want to have a decent meal. The room looked horrible, the fashion was mind boggling but the food was pretty decent.

Anders had unearthed a patterned shirt and tweedy blazer in one of the shops on the boat that didn't hurt his eyes too badly. He wore them to dinner that night.

The food wasn't too bad,he thought, though he didn't understand why the kitchen put canned pineapple and cherries on every dish.

"... What the hell is this?"

It looked terrible.

Sarah was going to settle down and watch everything.

Disco Dancing [2/24 evening] - Starlight Lounge

Ezra was dressed to the nines in a suit (no tie though, and the jacket was undone) because he could be. Also, he wanted to give these relics a glimpse of what actual 2010s elegance looked like.

Mostly he just wanted to lounge with a drink, though. Maybe at some point he'd get bored of watching people. Maybe not.

"This place is amazing," Alana said, when she spotted Ezra. Her hair was in the kind of braids Bo Derek would make famous a few months later,ad she was holding a neon-colored drink. "Even the bad stuff is amazingly bad. Hi."

Travis had come to just have a drink and maybe enjoy the view but somehow, some way, he'd ended up dancing with some random, seventies clad lady. She was much older than him but she'd been so nice and Travis had been helpless to resist.

Of course, she'd wandered off pretty quick so now Travis was just dancing around alone. Look at him, looking like a fool!

Yeah, Ronan had walked right past the jetpack presentation and found himself a nice, cushy seat at the bar. He already had a drink in front of him and was amusing himself by watching people try to dance.

Well, this was certainly different. Nathan hadn't really known what to expect but this was surpassing all thoughts. He was just going to grab a drink and sit back and out of the way to enjoy.

Alana had let the stylist in the ship beauty salon talk her into long braids, and -- even though the weight of extensions was annoying -- she had to admit she looked pretty fabulous. (Her wings poked out in the back, but no one seemed inclined to comment on them.)

She leaned against the bar with her hand curved around a bright pink drink and tapped her foot slightly in time to the music.

As soon as he spotted Alana, Johnny made his way over. "I like the hair. When did that change?"

Johnny figured that his personal style would work reasonably well for this. Nice pants, a shirt unbuttoned an unreasonable amount, and a complete lack of shame on the dance floor.

Let's be honest, the disco almost fit him too well.

Hey, it was something to do, right? Gwen wasn't here for disco, ew, but it was worth people-watching, if only to see 70's fashions.

And here she was, getting weird looks for wearing a bunch of black and looking like she stepped out of a Hot Topic. From people in polyester and pornstaches.

Sun Deck

[personal profile] suitably_heroic 2015-02-24 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Atton hadn't been lying to Anakin earlier today. He really was going to go up to the Sun Deck and try to meditate. Not in the regular, make-sure-all-your-insides-are-still-inside way, but the weird, mind-boggling, disorienting type of Jedi meditation where you reached out and touched everything.

Metaphorically speaking.

He found a nice, quiet spot near the railing where he could sit.

He sat down.

He shut his eyes.

And he reached out into the Force all around them, until he was aware of every fish, and every bird, and every person mulling around below decks with their disco and their food and their easy lives.

He let out a tiny sigh. He could feel the Light Side everywhere, in everything. Made him think about Meetra, the first time he'd seen her... glow, from the inside out.

It was nice.

It wasn't often that Hatter got out of his clothes in public but a night swim was just too good to pass up. So, leaving everything (even his hat!) behind, he'd come back in newly purchased trunks to take a swim.

So. Barry had made a total ass of himself yesterday. And for the life of him he couldn't have figured out why he was being such an asshole.

Well, in general he was usually an asshole but yesterday took the case.

Probably had something to do with being in the 1970s and all the polyester.
