Los Angeles, California, 1978 (Sunday, February 22nd)

The first sign that things weren't exactly right was the Hollywood sign: not exactly the tourist trap-y mandatory photo it was back in 2015. The next was the outfits of the other passengers: there's a lot of polyester. Like a lot. No one's worn hair this terrible unironically in decades other than Anakin. And that's when it dawned: this might be Los Angeles, and the school was definitely about to go on a cruise along the Mexican coast...but it wasn't in 2015.

Not at all groovy, man. And the worst part? You can't even Instagram the photographic evidence! All electronics have stopped receiving signals, too. Portalocity went hardcore this time. There's a little bit of time to explore where and when you've been dropped off before the ship disembarked, but not enough time to return to the island.

Anna thought the ship was simply grand. She was shoving down a little queasiness -- she hadn't been on a boat in a long time, and the last time her parents had been on a boat --

But that was rare, that boat accidents happened, and she was sure it was going to be fine. This was some sort of gigantic futuristic luxury ship and those probably never sank in bad storms. She was deciding this pretty firmly and would keep telling herself that until it sunk in.

She was, however, wishing she'd thought to pack a sweater. There seemed to be a decided chill in this room.

More importantly, she threw the door to her room open and was going to wave excitedly as other people as they went past her, to their own rooms. Did anyone want to come in and chat?

(The room is totally a normal temperature; Anna's just chilly because of minor plottiness.)
