Kuala Lumpur [Thursday, February 27, 2014, morning]

Good morning, Fandom! It's a bright, sunny, hot and humid day, with temperatures cranking up to 93 degrees (or 34C), though it feels almost ten degrees hotter (or four...). It's an excellent day to hang out in air conditioned malls--Kuala Lumpur is rightly famous for the quality of its shopping options--or to hang out by the hotel pool if you didn't discover it last night.

Vacation is halfway over, folks! Get in all the lounging and sun that you can!

It might be located way out in west KL, but The Curve (http://thecurve.com.my/) beats many of its competitors with its indoor/outdoor layout, range of al fresco dining and pedestrianized walkways. Add to the mix Kuala Lumpur’s only Ikea, as well as an adjoining Tesco, and you have one of the best malls in town.

Well, Jackson was right in his element. No, he wasn't going to be visiting Ikea, thanks but no thanks, but he was going to spend a good long while walking around the mall, looking for some souvenirs for his parents.

Or, as his current window shopping outside an upscale clothing store suggested, for himself.

Could Jackson pass himself off as a German tourist and escape this situation? Probably not, although the thought crossed his mind for about half a second.

It didn't show. He looked perfectly calm and collected and mild as he turned to face her. If maybe a little tense.

Jackson squared his shoulders. "I had an emergency."

That wasn't strictly speaking even a lie. Wolfing out at a dance was an emergency.

Hey, way to go, that was still a little vague, and yet still managed to surprise Jackson. You know, like she hadn't talked about vampires right at the dance. And like he didn't know Sunnydale was kind of a Beacon Hills.

Sometimes he was an idiot about what he thought others could figure out.

Seriously, how had Jackson not cracked any teeth yet with the tenseness that appeared in his jaw in these situations?

He huffed out an annoyed breath, and glanced around before replying. "I don't like to go around broadcasting what I am, okay?"

"I can't blame you." Unhelpful, Cordelia. "But those times of the month don't just sneak up on you, and it was Valentine's Day. That's the one time you let someone know if they're gonna get stood up five minutes in. And that dress was too expensive to just go home right away."

Like she'd never done worse to someone on Valentine's Day.

He was not going to talk about the sideburns or the fact that his werewolf form looked kind of like a leprechaun.
