Morning had broken in Bali, bringing with it a beautiful 80F degree day. There were plenty of activities planned for the day, for anyone who wanted to be active instead of lying by the pool and getting their tan on. No matter what the folks from Fandom did though, it would definitely be better than not being on vacation at all.

Rooms [2/25 AM]

Students are checked into King Club rooms in the East Village where one king bed (or two twins) takes up some of the 49 square meter room with views of either tropical gardens or a serene lagoon, depending on what side of the complex you fall on. Luxurious appointments include marble bath with separate shower, a batik robe, slippers, and complimentary Internet access. The slippers and robe are NOT complimentary. Chaperones are housed in the larger suites, complete with sitting rooms and views of the beach, far enough away not to hear the shenanigans students get up to while still remaining legally liable for their actions. Feeling lazy or hungover? Order up some room service!

Today was an in day. Despite layers of suntan lotion, Joker had still gotten burned. It wouldn't have been so bad, except he had sunburn on his shins, which meant his leg braces hurt to put on.

Oh, well.

After slathering himself with aloe, Joker ordered room service and settled in on the bed to play video games all day.

Spa, Pools, Beach, & Fitness Center

There are five (FIVE!) pools on the Hyatt property. The Lagoon Pool, set in parallel to the white sandy coast line of Nusa Dua, provides a breath-taking view of the off-shoring waves of the Indian Ocean. You can relaxy as you float down the River Pool in the surrounding of lush tropical gardens, lily ponds and lagoons, or just simply have a splashing fun in the waterslides. Located in the North Village, the Balinese-featured Pool is inspired by the fabled Balinese water palaces of old. Dedicated exclusively for our Club guests, which Fandom is, the Grand Club Pool is located in the East Village, adjacent to the Grand Club Lounge and just steps from your room. Finally, the Bay Club Pool is located within the area of The Bay Club Fitness & Health Centre. If it helps make up your mind, the Poolside Bar is by the River Pool, and they serve food and drink all day.

The Hyatt is located on more than 650 meters of pristine white beach that's only a short walk from the Poolside Bar. Grab a towel and some sunscreen and laze the day away. It is vacation.

Ubud's Monkey Forest road is a famous landmark in central Ubud, and its one-way thoroughfare caters well to visitors with good quality restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, homestays and shopping venues. Along the street you may easily find international brand stores, sophisticated shops selling local designs, beautiful painting stores and handicraft and antiques outlets on each side of the street.

Sukawati Art Market is the biggest market in Bali to purchase handicrafts and traditional handmade products, and is located on the main road of Sukawati. This two-floor building is packed with tourists and locals almost every weekend, especially during summer, Christmas, Eid Ul Fitr and New Year's holiday – sometimes you can’t even get a space in the parking lot.

Discovery Shopping Mall, the only mall with a beachfront view, is located in Kuta’s prime area. There's a couple things I want to do in Bali; are there plans yet for any museum and/or coffee plantation tours? I'll add my own if not, but if they're coming later in the week, I'll wait. :)
