Banyan Tree Resort, Seychelles, Friday [Morning and Afternoon]

Normally, one might look forward to Friday's arrival, but today it meant there were only a few days of fall break left. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities - still hanging around 27C/80F with a warm breeze - and there were plenty of things left to do!

Assuming one could get past the urge to sleep in, of course. It was still a vacation, after all.

Villas [10/12 - Day]

Everyone is in hillside pool villas, where small private swimming pools, veranda with sun loungers and open-air pavilion invite you to let the world pass by while spending leisurely days taking in the glorious views of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding rain forest. Thoughtful details such as the submerged 'couple seat' in the private dip pool, and an indoor sunken bathtub make up this romantic haven for two. Or kind of awkward, depending on your roommate relationship.

The Banyan Tree offers a variety of options, from Thai cuisine at Saffron to Creole at Chez Lamar to in-villa room service!

The Pool [10/12 - Day]

Relax at the infinity pool! Work on your tan, get safari grit out of your teeth, order a snack from the pool bar!

The Spa [10/12 - Day]

Calm your mind and take in the peacefulness of your surroundings. Allow the therapists to offer you a soothing foot bath, herbal drink with refreshments and a few minutes to leave the cares of the world behind. All Banyan Tree Spa sessions are 30 miutes long. The spa is open from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

Gym and Tennis Courts [10/12 - Day]

The Gym at the Spa welcomes you every day from 7:30 AM until 9:00 PM, and the tennis courts are always open for a good workout!

Beach [10/12 - Day]

It's a climb down, but the island's beach looks inviting enough. The intensely blue water laps up against the sand and the odd protruding rock alike. The ocean is full of fish - perfect for snorkling! - and downright balmy in temperature.

Fishing on Ste. Anne Island [10/12 - Day]

A boat will pick you up near the resort to take you to Sainte Anne Island, which provides some of the richest fishing grounds in the world and promises an exciting experience for fishing enthusiasts. Lunch included, though if you want to eat what you catch, that's fine too!

Discovery Drive [10/12 - Day]

Explore the capital Victoria's Selwyn Clark Market, which offers local attractions and of course the best shopping spots. With a local guide at hand you will have all the inside information on the best spots and the interesting stories that make them unique. Once the shopping is done, enjoy the amazing coastal ride back to the hotel.

Botanical and Spice Gardens [10/12 - Day]

Visit the spice gardens on the resort property. They're perfect for a leisurely stroll and extend for 15 acres.

April had had a weirdly fun time playing wingman for Atton last night, but today was for room service and being sprawled on her stomach on her bed, playing video games. Specifically, Yodel of Obligation, which it turned out was kind of amazing.

Loud, obviously. But amazing.

She also had cold pizza. Yes, it was still morning. She'd requested that it be cold upon delivery, okay? It was just better that way.

Yesterday had been a beach day, today was a pool day. Stacey had gone swimming a bit because you had to when you had an infinity pool, and then found a chair where she could lay out with a diabetes-friendly drink from the bar.

Did they have to go back? Was that really necessary?

Sia really did like having the opportunity to get into town and see everything, primarily because this wasn't something she could do at home. Here she could see things, and meet people without worrying about ulterior motives and wander around without some sort of protection. This really was a vacation for her.

She was spending her time browsing, looking for something she might be able to bring back for Juliet, and seeing everything she could.

Villa 114 [10/12 - Day]

Apparently there was a limit to how hard you could outrun yourself before part of it caught up again.

Now Atton had had a pretty good night with the brunette April had helped him net-- he had gotten home late last night and collapsed in his bed and trusted sleep to bring him pleasant nothingness.

It didn't.

There was blood, and her fingers in his mind, and him reaching out and taking the life from her-- there was Malachor V and the storms that sucked ships around him down, crushing all below, and him just in the cockpit, staring--

He didn't realize he'd shouted "No!" as he woke up, shivering, blinking rapidly like it'd make it all fade away.

Alec had never gone fishing before. It seemed like a very mundie thing to do, to be honest, and anyway, finding an opportunity to do it in New York might've been a bit of a challenge. But if the alternative was spa services or laying in his room all day, he supposed he might as well try it.

...And it turned out he liked it a lot. If he got enough distance from the rest of the tourists, it was quiet, and peaceful, and he was able to just focus on what he was doing without anyone bothering him. It was nice.

Victor wasn't really much of a shopper, but he'd make an exception when it was the best way to see a city. He listened to the guide carefully, and kept an eye out at the markets. He was hoping to find a hat for Molly's collection, but a little something for Olive wouldn't hurt either.

Mercy was enjoying the sun and the sea and the sand. It was just beautiful here and she had so rarely gotten to spend time near water growing up that it was even more special.

Jace got himself up earlier than he had been this week and headed down to the gym to get in a much needed workout. Natalie might not think she'd ever be captured by vampires but Jace wasn't about to be unprepared should that happen.

Darcy was going to enjoy the free time to do anything she wanted, which in this case meant she was lying by the pool, doing absolutely nothing.

To everyone's great surprise, Prof Tomoe spent the morning getting a Balinese Boreh massage.

And was really enjoying it.

He lay there, blissed out and covered in turmeric wrap, as the masseuse worked out all the tight muscle knots you get from hunching over lab equipment all day.

Goose was curious about fishing, which was something that he'd never had an opportunity to do before so that was where he was today.

He wasn't sure he entirely got the point of fishing but he was finding that he was enjoying it.
