Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Friday - Evening

The night is for terrible things, not the day, silly narrative revelers. Especially when the night is clear, warm, and filled with the sizzling sounds of sssssamba! It might be Lent now, but it's still Rio, and it's still Friday. Time for dancing on the sand, in the clubs, and if you think there's no dancing in the streets anymore, you must be walking down the wrong street. Turn left by the man with the saxophone; drop a tip in his hat and he'll tell you where to go from there.

Rio de Janeiro - Plataforma Samba Show (Fri Evening)

Looking for the feel of Carnival without the huge crowds of Sunday and Monday? Would you like dinner thrown in as well? Look no further than the Plataforma Samba Show (http://www.viator.com/tours/Rio-de-Janeiro/Plataforma-Samba-Show/d712-2484_11). You'll be entertained by brilliantly costumed dancers and musicians with the option to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse.

Tara took in the samba show. She didn't eat much; she kept getting enthralled by the dancers and musicians and forgetting she had food in front of her.

Oops.

Also, she really needed to learn to samba in the next 36 hours.

Rio de Janeiro - Restaurants and Clubs in Arco do Teles (Fri Evening)

When the hard working people of Rio de Janeiro leave their offices in historic downtown they head to the restaurants and bars beyond the Arco do Teles (http://gobrazil.about.com/od/wheretoeatinrio/ss/Happy-Hour-in-Downtown-Rio-De-Janeiro.htm). Join them in killing time, enjoying some cold drinks and soaking in the atmosphere in ancient cobblestone streets, and make sure not to miss out on one of the all-you-can eat churrascarias. NOM NOM NOM MEAT. ON A STICK.

After Bruce settled in at a table at Villarino, he - and really, everyone there - noticed a woman. She was tall and tan and young and lovely. And when she passed, each one she passed went, "Ahhhhh." Bruce thought it was a little creepy that everyone had exactly that reaction, but he still had to admit that she was very lovely. But he wasn't exactly planning on giving his heart gladly to her.

No, instead he just ordered a drink and enjoyed the music.

[OOC: I had to do it eventually.]

Rebecca was just at a bar. Drinking scotch and eventually picking up a very hot Brazilian guy who seemed utterly charmed by her smile and sense of humor.

Because Becs was classy, okay?

Cara had meat. On a stick. Lots of meat.

She was remarkably content with this.

For all the terrible things you might be doing in slightly less heavily-frequented locales.

Luke had spent all week avoiding the beach and when he decided to finally check it out it was nighttime. He had no intention of getting in the water at all, but it was still nice to sit in the sand and enjoy the view.
