Paleontology Field Trip, May 1st

There's a van parked at the end of the causeway, waiting for the students.

Once everyone's piled in, Tommy takes off for the mainland, and the dig site that they're visiting today.

Get in the van, chat amongst yourselves while Tommy drives.

About halfway through the trip, at a moment when no one happens to be paying attention, there's a flash of green that envelops the van. Tommy, of course, chose that exact moment to look at his cellphone to see if there were any messages. Probably shouldn't have done that.

Molly took a seat in the back of the van.

Kawalsky jumped in the back with Molly and harassed her most of the way.

Molly was more than happy to be harassed by Charlie as it kept her from thinking about other things. She did her own share of harassment in return, teasing him about his antics over the weekend.

"Duck pond. She threw me in the *duck pond*."

Molly laughed. "I'm sure you deserved it," she said.

He grinned. "Yeah, I really did. What can I say? I was an energetic six year old. You were a fantastic babysitter. Ice cream for breakfast wins."

Molly smiled. "Thank you. I did my best."

Janet's in the van, and too busy studying on the trip to notice any green flashes of light. Funny, that.

Sharon claims a seat and hunches down, praying no one remembers her in pink. She's wearing black and green, just in case. And trying to make notes. Possibly doodle, as well.

Rory's there and reading Proust, because she's a dork who has no idea how to be fun on long car rides, apparently.

Tommy takes the turn-off off the highway, and follows the road... not to the out-of-the-way desert dig site that he'd expected, but to a... theme park?

"WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK" proclaims the sign.

Tommy just stares at it for a minute. And then he glances at his watch. It's too late to turn back and get to the right place now, so he decides to just pay admission for everyone. Okay, so a theme park wasn't exactly the plan, but judging from the name of the place, at least the rides should have a dinosaur theme... right? Right?

"Buh?" Kawalsky said when he saw the sign. "Hey, Doc, I thought we were going on a dig?"

"Shut up, Charlie," Molly whispered quietly.

"An amusement park is just fine with us, Dr. Oliver," she said louder.

"Oh, yeah, no complaints!"

Molly smiled happily at Dr. Oliver.

"Yeah, I uh... think I must've taken a wrong turn somewhere," Tommy admitted sheepishly. "It's too late to go find the right place now, though, so I guess you'll all just have to have fun," he says with a shrug. "Too bad."

Okay... so... not so much with rides, then. He can deal with this. Really. They're probably just robots or something. Tommy gives brief but boring lectures on each species they pass by.

Sharon spends a large amount of time staring at the dinosaurs. She's not sure she should feel quite so bouncy about them, but. Dinosaurs. A grin splits her face after a while.

Rory? Totally attempted to feed a stegosaurus an Oreo.

It rejected her. Woe.

Again, brief but boring speeches. And Tommy's starting to wonder why, considering his own experience in the field of dinosaurs and robotics, he's never heard of this place.

While Tommy's not looking... feel free to sneak off and have a side-adventure of your own. Just remember to come back in one piece, please.

Yes, several hours have passed. But on the way back, they pass through the same portal. In Fandom, only an hour has gone by.
