It was a beautiful day on Barbados, and the sea looked especially inviting. Who didn't want to enjoy a February vacation in paradise? Truly?

"Oh, I get it now," Vi said resting her chin on Steph's shoulder. "Be a fun way to get banned though."

"Excuse me," Steph said, turning to kiss her cheek, "but I have a private, romantic dinner for two on the beach booked for tomorrow night, and we're not getting banned before then, thank you very much."

She paused briefly.

"At least wait until our last day here to do that."

"Oh, I definitely don't want to ruin your plans," Vi said, smiling at her. "I'm sure your date will appreciate how thoughtful you're being."

"Yeah, you damn well better," Steph retorted, poking her lightly in the belly. "Smartass."

"Oh, I'm your date?" Vi faked surprise. "Definitely don't want to ruin your plans then."

"I am going to push you in," Steph announced, as if she had any real intention of following through on that. "Just for being the world's biggest brat."

Hopefully it would be a lot less awkward than the last time she'd pushed Vi into the ocean.

Vi was completely unintimidated. "That eager to get me wet?"

Neither of them were in denial now? At least not about wanting to see each other in clingy wet clothes.

There was just one thing they were still in denial about. But it was fine.

Vi reached out to grab hold of Steph's top and pull her in for a kiss. "Love you too."

They weren't making themselves miserable, so it was all good.

Steph's glass went flying somewhere into the sand as she let herself get pulled in, oops.

"Promise you'll show me how much you appreciate my efforts after our beach date and I won't push you in. Unless you want me to."

Steph grinned against her lips, looping both arms around her neck as the waves lapped up around their feet.

"I'd say I can't believe I get to spend a week basically in paradise with you, but I feel like that every day anyway, babe."

Vi ducked her head, grinning. "Sweet talker. You know flattery will get you just about everywhere."

"Oh, I'm very well aware." Steph pulled her down for another kiss. "So, want to go floating out on the water with me? Bet one of those inner tubes is big enough for us to cuddle in."

This would probably end up with them unceremoniously dunked.

Steph beamed and stole one more kiss. "Good thing I reserved us a tube already. Your ride awaits, my lady."

"I think I'm going to go with the Curry Shrimp, it sounds really good." Connor finally decided with a nod even as he still continued to scan the list of tempting options.

"Oh that does sound good," Cutter nodded as he looked over his menu again, "I think I might go for the Shrimp and Mango Salad," he said as he eventually settled on his choice.

"Maybe something after if we feel like something for dessert?" Connor said with a grin as they placed their orders. And once the server left he reached over and grabbed Cutter's hand, giving his fiance a smile. "Glad we are able to do this together, Nick."

Connor gave Cutter's hand a small squeeze. "After everything that's happened this past year.... yeah I appreciate these times a heck of a lot more."

Cutter smiled fondly, “I know, I can’t wait for us to work on the future that we’ve planned, I’m looking forward to doing everything with you,”
