Rotorua, New Zealand [Tuesday Morning into Afternoon]

Get set for a big day in Rotorua!

Start at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, a spectacular showcase of New Zealand's most colorful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of volcanic activity. Explore the out-of-this-world landscape, including the famous mud pool, the largest in New Zealand. Arrive at 10:15 am to hear the history and see the beauty of the Lady Knox Geyser, which erupts daily to heights of 33 to 66 feet (10 to 20 m).

Or you can go back to the swings (or the luge that are up by the swings), try the skydiving, or stay close to the lodge, which also offers activities for the day.

Each pair of travelers is in a deluxe room, complete with two twin beds or a king (depending on what's funnier).

Well, there isn't gym equipment but there are a variety of hikes, mountain bike paths, and horseback riding to keep in shape. You can also go fishing or on a several hour hike to Bridal Veils Falls

Or you can hide in the forest spa. It's vacation. Do you.

Up early because I'm going to be in the car most of the morning!

At first Cutter hand't been too sure about this trip but finally the scientist in him couldn't resist the opportunity to see such a wondrous landscape and he knew Connor was coming on the trip too, so he was sure he was going to be find.

He looked around in awe, it was definitely an impressive site.

After spending a couple of days ~~handwavily~~ back at the hotel, Alara definitely wanted to try sky diving today, she had never been before but this was something that looked like fun.

Well, at least this was interesting, and didn't involve the risk of bodily harm. Atton wandered around, staring at the geysers. Contemplative.

It reminded him of a few places. Most of them not so great. But what else was new?

Power coursing through him, burning him up. Familiar eyes on him. The quiet certainty that these were his last moments, that he would die here, for them--

Atton jerked awake with a grunt, and immediately felt his back protesting. "Poodoo," he mumbled, wrestling his breathing back under control.

Or trying to, anyway.

No gym (on a Tuesday, no less!) was a little bit of a bummer, but it was hard to really complain about it when there were pretty good option for a good morning run all the same. So Gladio found a trail and got to jogging and trying to decide if he actually should drag Iggy out fishing with him at some point later. You know, kind of for old times' sake.

"Wow" Connor said as he looked around at the hot springs in awe. "This is bloody amazing," he said, eyes still wide. He had seen pictures of places like Yellowstone but to see something like this in person was really breath-taking!

Arden was definitely going to go on the swing and skydiving again, but first she was going to go on the gondola on the way up and then zipline down. She was a little disappointed to find out that the luges weren't water but some kinda weird bike thing, but that wasn't going to stop her from trying it later.

And was going to send a text to Charlie and Graham and anybody else whose number she might have (along with the suggest to send it on to other folks) about Plan Gondola and see if anybody else wanted to come along.

Oh, noooo, did Summer's dedication to having a nice spa morning mean she was missing...*checks notes* hot water? How terrible! Not...hot water!

Just look at how totally distressed she was over this, really, truly, just the worst....

Kurt had been ~~handwavedly~~ busy doing other things yesterday so he was definitely doing the skydiving today! He was really looking forward to it.

"It really is something isn't it?" Cutter smiled as he looked at their surroundings, "I've been to a couple of hot springs before, they're incredible landscapes,"

Sending a text to Graham meant that at least it would be spread to everyone in his DnD group, if not to a few others, and then it would be pretty silly if he helped extend the invitation and then didn't even show up! Once he saw the gonolda, he might have a few regrets, but what kind of knight was he going to be if he let a silly little thing like precarious heights throw him off?

So he was definitely showing up and giving Arden a wave when he saw her, like it had been ages since he last had and not, you know, earlier that morning because roommates and what have you.

"Hey, Arden! Great idea! See? I told you this whole getting out there and having fun thing was easy!"

Whereas Arden looked positively delighted at the whole setup. Dangling hundreds of feet in the air while peering out and down? Who didn't see this as the best idea? At least until it came time to plummet down even< faster than they'd come up!

"Hey!" she said, waving back with just as much enthusiasm. "You were totally right! There's so many different things to do!"

By which she meant 'so many different ways to fling yourself into the air and then down.'

"And," Graham chirped encouragingly, "it's only even the second full day! If you're not exhausted from all the fun and adventure by the end of the week, well, then," here he chuckled, "you're probably doing it wrong, in my opinion! But gonoldas and ziplines, huh?"

There was a slightly nervous swallow, but hey! If it wasn't safe, they wouldn't be able to do it, right? But he was thinking he should have maybe found some saffron and eagle's feathers before heading out here, just in case. Maybe he could use his cloak as a parachute? Zards! He could have brought a parachute in his cloak!

With how well last night's ~~utterly handwaved and shamelessly modded~~ exchange of photographs and descriptions had gone, Ignis was back at it again, somewhat awkwardly angling his phone around for pictures when not just handing it over to Gladio to ensure they weren't all just random shots in the dark (as it were), all the while stifling the occasional yawn, because someone was definitely up way past their bedtime last night.
