Sumba Island, Indonesia, Sunday Afternoon

Welcome to Nihi Sumba, one of the best resorts on the planet. While many resorts play lip service to ecological friendliness and working with local populations, Nihi Sumba really does walk the walk. The resort has a strong focus on sustainability and a steadfast dedication to giving back to the local Sumbanese community while respecting and helping to preserve island traditions.

The island’s remote location is beautiful but it is also isolating for the island’s people, which has caused wide-spread and extreme poverty. Since its opening in 2001, Nihi has single-handedly kickstarted the island’s economy and aimed to improve the quality of life for those living on the island. Around 90 percent of the staff on-property are Sumbanese, and many more islanders have been employed through the food supply and materials needed to maintain the resort’s upkeep and operations.

Nihi Sumba has more than 27 uniquely designed villas, and we will be staying in five of them. Each villa offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and Nihiwatu Beach, their own plunge pools, personal staff, living areas and kitchens. You don’t have to leave your villas all week! You can have meals served at your villas, too, but if you'd like to mingle with more than just your cohort, Nihi offers three world-class restaurants, a large pool, and some of the most spectacular beach-front property in the world.

And they have theme nights!

The hub of dining activity is the main, sandy-floored Ombak (which means wave front) restaurant and bar lounge. Ombak, an exquisitely crafted open-air restaurant, serves dinner daily in a relaxed atmosphere (and will have breakfast tomorrow). During the week the resort creates special dining experiences including spectacular BBQs, one of which is ~~moddably~~ happening tonight. The large outside deck, cantilevered over the ocean, offers relaxed lounge seating and a spectacular private dining experience, The Nest, perched on the crest of the ocean, is perfect for a romantic dinner or an intimate group meal.

Visit Kaboku for an intimate meal of freshly caught seafood, Omakase style. Watch the sushi chefs prepare an assortment of catch-of-the-day against a backdrop of brilliant sunsets and a roaring beach fire. The chic structure captures a high-end Japanese sushi bar environment, while surrounded by the resort's signature open-air resort ambiance. The restaurant is open from 6 pm until 10 pm. The seven-course menu of local ingredients also includes avocado tofu, shrimp dumplings, Teriyaki dishes, miso soup, desserts, and more. Try the sake and wine pairing with your meal.

The Beach Club keeps offering drinks and snacks as the sun starts to go down, and you can get them delivered to your chair by the pool. And isn't that what vacation is really all about?

2.5 kilometers of white sand beach that looks like it's never been stepped on until you came along. Take a swim until it's too dark to be safe for that, watch the horses run in the surf, go for a walk at sunset. It'll be gorgeous.

Boy, was Summer sure glad she'd thought to plan for whatever sex her body decided to stick with that morning! Of course, patting herself on the back for her foresight would only get her so far once she went to drop her (several suitcases, for several gender expressions, apparently) into her room, which was just going to cause her to sigh.

"Just the one bed," she murmured, shaking her head and regretting some things right now. "Of course..."

Although, to be fair, she was supposed to be sharing this room with her boyfriend, so what did she even expect?

Libby should have really known by now that the rooms for these school trips were definitely way more than just a place to sleep. She went to drop off her suitcase (and maybe see who she was rooming with this time) with the full intention of just leaving her stuff and going to go spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the resort as a whole, but as soon as she got up to her room...

The rooms themselves were practically a spectacle, and she was definitely caught in how gorgeous it was even in just the rooms. Oh, this was going to be amazing!

Shunsui was still a beautiful woman, he was in an absolutely beautiful paradise and had somehow managed to score a wonderfully skimpy bikini that looked great on him and underneath his haori, and he could lounge his current lovely body on a chair and not even bother having to get up for drinks?

He was clearly wasting no time in getting his vacation started, thank you.

Kurt was not all that sure how he felt about... this.... though he was somewhat relieved to find out it wasn't JUST him. But when he had woken up that morning and found he was still definitely not in his normal body, there had been a brief moment where he considered skipping the trip. But that was short-lived, and being here, even having just seen the rooms and not much else, he was glad he had come. And hopefully, the island insanity would ware off now that they were here?

"I can sleep on the floor," Stark said as he followed her in to the room carrying his own bag. He packed light, even when borrowing clothes in close of emergencies (though Summer had certainly brought enough that he thought he could borrow more if needed).

Ignis, dealing with unfamiliar terrain in an unfamiliar body, was stubbornly refusing to ask for any form of help or assistance as he cautiously made his way around with his cane to sort of start getting a feel for the place, with a deep frown of concentration.

"Well, this all seems perfectly fine and not at all difficult to navigate," he could be found muttering to himself.

Though perhaps he should be glad to be in the estate without so many stairs...

"You're not sleeping on the floor, Stark," said Summer, immediately, almost like she had that phrase locked and loaded and ready to go in response. She moved in to claim the side of the room with the better view. "We'll just....put some pillows up in the middle, or something, it'll be fine."

"Ok... wow... this is... wow" Connor gave up trying to say anything and just stood for a moment, taking it all in, barely noticing the ache in his arms as he was still holding the suitcases and bags he had with him.

Whyever would Summer have had that ready to go?

"I've slept on floors before," Stark pointed out. "Much worse ones."

But that bed did look comfortable...

Whyever, indeed. Probably the same whyever that made Stark's next comment align perfectly with Summer's continued prediction, too. It was like she could have scripted this while exchange out before hand...

"You're not sleeping on the floor," she repeated, simply, firmly, to the point. "It's a vacay, anyway. If we're doing it right, we won't even be in here that much, anyway."

Although, seriously, legit, lounging in here all day was pretty choice, too...

Jon was a little disconcerted to have a butler, honestly. Though the help with his baggage was...well, helpful. And having read up on the place they were staying made him feel a bit better about it.

And unlike the last vacation, nothing here seemed likely to trigger one of his (many, many) phobias.

He'd just be sitting awkwardly in the main room with a glass of water for a while.

Lana would be happier if she hadn't had to scramble for different-sized clothing at the last minute, but this place seemed very nice. And there was plenty of beach nearby to practice her moves and get used to this body, since it was a while since this had happened to her.

For now, she was going to be soaking in the pool.

"Oh, hey." TJ waved at her roommate, squinted at them, and gave up with a shrug. "Nope, no idea who you are." She figured she was easy, right?
