Thursday: Nemesis Island

When the residents of Fandom awake they'll see they have a new neighbor across the causeway. One that looks remarkably similar to Fandom just... not so inviting.

However for those who are not faint of heart, Nemesis island is open to all those who would like to visit.

Just don't expect to come home in one piece.

[ooc: This is a list of NPC Businesses and locations in case you wish to have your characters interact with Nemesis characters off of Fandom Island. Mod the shops much as you would a J'GOB or The Perk. Preplayed scenes may be linked in the threads below.

Like the preserve at Fandom but the woods are dark. The trees are twisted, gnarled and barely any light enters it.

It's not exactly a place you want to stay and ponder. The grass is dead and the playground is old and rusted. The pond is covered with some kind of green sludge and it looks like something large lurks below.

Despite the scary exterior, the meat pies are quite good.

Booze-a-plenty and... Well, you know. Karaoke, however, is sadly missing.

Just your average wax museum. Where the sculptures look remarkably lifelike!

Okay so it's not exactly a clinic, but it's as close as you get here...

Where chipmunks rule.

Much like Fandom there are many secluded areas, but the water near the shore looks dark and dreary.

Remember. The meatpies at Lovett's? Always fresh.

Umbridge was taking a nice, quiet stroll through the park. The air was fresh, the ground was soft and she was happy. Delighted. Tickled pink, even. It was good to be alive.

[Anyone can ping her if they're around. She's just like she was before. So, beware beware.]

The Joker was hanging around the outside of the asylum, twirling a scalpel between his fingers and humming a happy tune.

He was also dressed in a full nurse's uniform.

Well, gee, the creepy place across the way had been a nice surprise, and figuring that something creepy and mysterious that just showed up needed some investigating, there was a Buffy heading on over for some very early patrol. She found the area that she thought had the highest creep factor, and just decided to check things out. You know, as you do.

"Hello, dear boy," Umbridge said, smiling pleasantly at the Joker but keeping her wand ready. This one was unpredictable. "Are you enjoying yourself on this fine day?"

"Oh yes m'am, I am," the Joker said, nodding and licking his lips. "The nurses in the asylum are so entertaining!"

They didn't take knife wounds to the chest very well though. That was unfortunate.

Sam had caught wind that something was going on after his library shift, and going to check out the creepy new island seemed like the best course of action. Dean might kill him for going alone, but he'd deal with that when he had to.

After wandering for a bit, Sam found himself at the wax museum. No one else seemed to be around, so he took a few cautious steps up to the windows, and peered inside. The sculptures really did look lifelike - too lifelike for Sam's comfort as he swore he saw one of them stare back at him. He backed away a lot faster than he'd approached, and couldn't shake the feeling that he should get away while he could.

"Excellent," Umbridge said with a small nod and an excited giggle. "Soon enough, you'll have more people to entertain yourself. You'll enjoy this island, dear. It's quite...spirited."

"Mmmmm I love spirited people," he said, twirling the scalpel with more enthusiasm when he thought about the innocent people over at the other island. "It's so much more fun to tear them apart when they're fighting back."

"It gets so boring otherwise," Umbridge agreed with a nod and a little twirl of her wand. "And we wouldn't want that, would we? Boredom just leads to...well, slothful behaviors that should be avoided. Laziness is for insolent students and their insipid authority figures."

Somewhere off in the distance, there was a metallic creaking, the noise of something moving at a fairly fast clip.

A flash of red came through towards Buffy, not as annoying as a laser pointer but every bit as attention grabbing.

The Cylon came into view, red beam focused on Buffy. One arm came up, pausing there. Determining this person was not what he wanted, he turned and started walking away from her.

The Joker's lip curled as best it could at the mention of authority figures. "I'll just have to teach them a little lesson about the evils laziness, won't I?"

"I think being trapped in a room with barrels of gasoline ready to blow will get them moving," the Joker mused. "Oooh! Or maybe I could hold their girlfriends hostage! It'll be like a scavenger hunt!"

Huh, that was weird. At least she knew it was a robot, and not a demon. Unless it was another demon robot thing but let's hope not. Staring after it, she called back, "Well, that was rude!"

Tyler was bored.

Tyler was usually bored, and doing one of several things: Tossing a tennis ball against the wall and catching it. Seeing if he could concoct explosives from the contents of the staff fridge. Egging the less comatose inmates to fight each other. Practicing something he swore was judo but that looked more like he was making it up.

Or, sometimes, bothering whatever other patients were around. He was on that one today.

"Nice uniform."

"My, my, you are a creative one," Umbridge said, smiling at the Joker once again. "Mental torture is almost as fun as physical torture but I don't think I need to tell you that at all. You have big plans. Do you have the resources to accomplish those plans?"

The Cylon stopped and turned smoothly to stare at Buffy. It didn't speak. The red light in it's head moved back and forth slowly, appraising her.

It took a few steps forward, one arm coming up again.

"Why thank you," the Joker said, smoothing out the edges of his skirt. "The nurses here are so generous, aren't they? Especially when they're on the wrong end of a scalpel."
