Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Feet Below Fandom, Saturday

So it was Saturday again. The end of Travis's second week down here. He was trying not to think about how long it had been.

The fire ladder was now handwavily positioned under Rey's progress on the roof of the hole, giving people easy access to the slowly growing divot if people wanted to work on it. (Was it a divot on the ceiling?)

There was a lovely mural started on one wall, and plenty of instruments if people wanted to start a band. There was a circle of cannons that could apparently be climbed on if you wanted to get shot across the room. (Why would you want that, Beaker? Why?) There was a very well organized stack of men's and women's fashion, only slightly out of date! There was a bowling alley. There were fire trucks. Warehouses and an ice cream store that was rapidly starting to smell. There was a campfire, which was proving to be a rather useful meditation spot, if you had Force powers! And there were even a few spaceships, which might or might not have useful things in them. And a blacksmith shop full of weapons, which people should probably not let Travis near while he was still annoyed at the pirates.

Was anyone else hearing a couple of birds singing?

"Good. I should be able to keep it from coming down it it does," Rey told her.

Aww look at that confidence finally. But really, she could do rocks.

"I don't know how, but I believe you," Faye decided, because what other choice did she have. There was a humming as she started getting her weapons warmed up. "Count of three?"

"One..." Rey counted, making sure she was lined up correctly, "two...three..."

And then she fired.

Faye yanked skillfully on her controls, firing into the X as she maneuvered a little to make sure she was hitting it from a few different angles in a continuous burst.

This was at least kind of fun.

There was something really cathartic about it.

So it wasn't so much an X anymore, and as bits of rock came down Rey decided to extend her focus so that she could bat them safely away to the sides of the ships. It wasn't nearly enough to see daylight but it was something!

Faye was vaguely impressed by this rock-batting-away business, because she certainly couldn't do that. But she was enjoying, as always, the fact that her ship was both very heavily-armed and very maneuverable.

She zipped up a little closer to what had been an X and was more of a rocky indentation, now, and turned on both cannons to fire into what seemed like the deepest point.

Rey moved so she could get another angle without getting Faye in her way, and it did help seeing some kind of progress.

"Any idea how deep we're getting?" she asked over the radio.

"Maybe a few meters," Faye offered, maneuvering a bit and using one of her ship's arms to reach into the crater they were creating to get an idea. "Ten, twelve feet, deeper in the middle there."

Not a bad dent! But they'd probably be at it for awhile at this rate.

"Doing okay on fuel?" 'Cause Faye, at least, was going to have to keep an eye on that.

"So far," Rey said. "Maybe we blast for a while and rotate to seeing what we can pull down with other methods?"

"Yeah -- if we loosen it up, maybe you can use your magic powers or whatever to pull stuff down?"

There was also a third ship that could be employed. Or have fuel siphoned from it. One of those.
