He climbed back into the house and headed for the kitchen. It was a slightly uphill trek. In the refrigerator, he found the large tupperware that contained the cat food and showed it to Dwight as Joni started meowing and scrambling down his back.
He took out two dishes and put a bit in each, and by the time he put them down on the ground, Beethoven was marching in from wherever he'd been. Joni attacked hers, and Beethoven eyed his smaller portion, then Hannibal, before settling in to eat with an air of longsuffering.
"He's eaten already today," Hannibal assured Dwight. "But there's no feeding only one of them."
