Eventually, the sun had to go down. The salesmen at the marketplace packed up their goods and headed home.

Torches still burned throughout the city, however. And while activity had slowed, there were still things to do and see.

The crickets are out and chirping, and much of the bustle of the city has quieted. But that doesn't mean the entire city has gone to sleep.

The actors have left. In their stead tonight, though, a group of musicians stand up on stage, armed with drums and lyres and song. They are far away enough from most homes that they can play their music loud.

Nearby, a bonfire provides heat, and the crowd is modest, but interested.

(Some of the lyrics are kind of bawdy.)

Kathy had had some wine with dinner and grabbed another bottle on the way out before finding herself where the music was coming from. Now she was giggling at some of the lyrics from behind her hand and sometimes joining in when the chorus was repeated.

If there was music, Hannibal had to check it out. It wasn't precisely what he'd have chosen, but it wasn't bad, and was certainly played with enthusiasm and some amount of skill.

The bawdy lyrics just made him smirk and shake his head.

If there was music, that was where Tali would be -- in a hooded cloak that covered her suit, just to avoid some awkward questions, but that didn't stop her from swaying happily along with the music.

And snorting into her hand at the raunchier lyrics. She made a point of remembering them; somewhere along the way Garrus had dropped out of contact, and he'd been secretive about his plans for a while anyway, but if she ever got a hold of him again she felt he'd appreciate them.

For many legionnaires, this is the one time they get each day where they can relax. They are chatting quietly among themselves, sat by many fires across this area. They eat pork and spicy dishes from all over Rivellon.

Some of them might have a seat to offer you.

It was the smell that drew Dante in first.

Then an offer of food.

And finally, at the end of the night, the opportunity to make a friend who he wasn't going to have to deal with on a daily basis afterwards.

But right now he was tearing through a chunk of pork pizza like he'd been starving all of his life, listening to war stories.

The locals are still leery of letting the newcomers wander around without an escort, but two soldiers have gracefully offered to help out tonight. Go for a walk throughout the city, admire it by torchlight-- enjoy the clear night skies as you go.

Or, perhaps, go up north, where you can watch the eerie red light of the nearby lava fields, scorching the sky.

Four chose to take the path of north, where he spent a good portion of the evening staring into the red light.

April loved nighttime walks! She headed north, chatting pleasantly with her soldier escort and snapping some photos for her Instagram as she went.

Or you can, like last night, sit out here by yourself or with a friend, and simply admire the area. There is that.

The guards dither by the gates. They're unlikely to let you outside tonight, but if you genuinely want to pick a fight with something tonight, you can always climb the walls and head back into the abandoned areas, where undead skeletons roam.

Skaar argued with the guards for about twenty seconds before just leaping over the wall toward the abandoned areas. He was looking for skeletons. He was going to smash skeletons.
