Florence [Sunday Morning, October 20th]

This was your last morning in Italy, Fandom, so enjoy it! The sun was shining and the temperatures were pretty nice. Time to enjoy your last lazy few hours before rushing off back to Fandom and normal life.

The five-star Hotel Savoy offers luxury and style in the heart of Florence. Located on the Piazza Repubblica, close to Florence's renowned Duomo, the hotel is just a short walk from the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio. It's also just steps away from the main Florence fashion houses if you're all art-ed out. Which would be a shame because you can't get a block in Florence without seeing some naked guy in a fountain. And most of the time they're even made of marble!

Everyone is staying in deluxe double or twin rooms ~~depending on what's funnier~~ and offer a view over the Piazza della Repubblica as well as of the Duomo. The Italian marble bathrooms, with mosaic decorations, also feature a separate shower, and the chaperones' rooms have a balcony out to enjoy the view of the city more thoroughly. Each room comes with satellite television, phones, internet connections and a minibar. Mmm, 10 Euro Toblerone.

Eating at the hotel restaurant in one of the great food capitals of the world might seem like a cop-out, but with a menu like L'Icontro's, we'll allow for an exception.

It's a bar that pours an authentic enough martini to end up on the official list of 'Bund Bars' throughout the world. In other news, there's a list of bars that are cool enough for a fictional character to drink in. Hee.

If you haven't figured out by now you have to walk pretty much everywhere in Italy, there's nothing we can do to help you on that front, but if you want to work out your arms and abs while getting an amazing view of the Duomo, the Savoy's got you covered. They also have a steam room, perfect from unkinking those muscles worn out from seeing all there is to see!

FLAILING SO HARD ABOUT SO MANY THINGS.

For her last touristy act in Italy (on this trip, anyway, but she didn't see very many return trips in her future), Gert decided to start the day with her first-ever espresso while she read an Italian newspaper.

She didn't much care for the taste, but she was sure going to drink the whole thing.

Billy was a very unfortunate guy indeed, because the process of Topher re-packing his stuff, even after he'd only been in this hotel for two nights, was pretty much a chaotic disaster. Sweater vests being flung, empty soda bottles from the minibar being tossed in the direction of the trash and landing on a bed...

"I can't find my stupid hair product," he whined.

Last morning here, and of course Kaidan was hitting the treadmills. He couldn't let himself get out of shape - he had a feeling he was going to get called back in as soon as this was over.

So here he was, running.

"Doesn't look like you're enjoying that drink very much either," Cade observed.

"I think my taste buds might just hate Italy," Gert observed, peering dubiously into her cup. But no, because Italian food was amazing. Gert just hated grown-up drinks. "And here I was trying to get the full experience."

She nodded at the cup. "Any ideas on making this more tolerable?" Cade Skywalker: Beverage Wizard.

Best nickname.

"Sugar," Cade said. "A lot of sugar."

"Thanks," Gert said dryly.

She'd kind of thought of that already, yeah. She took another sip, making a face at the taste once again.

"Think I like this better than booze, though, at least."

"If you have it with milk, it's a cappuccino," Cade offered.

Emma was enjoying her last chance to get some tasty, tasty food, as well as slapping at her wrist whenever it itched

It was itching like a mother, so she was slapping it fairly often.

"I'd say I'll try that next time, but I don't think I'm gonna subject myself to this again," Gert decided. "Adding it to the list of stuff I only make myself do on vacation."

Like sightseeing and walking until her feet felt like they were going to fall off.

"Can't say you struck me as a coffee drinker," she added.

There probably wasn't any real time to go anywhere else, so Sia had opted for breakfast at the hotel. Picking up food from the common rooms wasn't going to seem nearly as appetizing for a while after this.

"Have to deal with a hangover somehow," Cade replied. "I drink mine black."

Beat.

"Like my soul."

Gert snorted. "Uh-huh."

Oh, Cade. Bartend in the dark, why don't you.

"Then from where I'm standing, this seems like the time when you'd ordinarily be filling your backpack with unattended bags of fine Italian coffee beans," she pointed out.

"It's still full of empties from the minibar at the last place," Cade said.

"Billed to the room?" Gert guessed wisely.

Well, not that wisely. It was pretty obvious, because Cade.

"Do I look new?" Cade asked. "Billed to someone else's room."
