Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Wednesday - Day

The early morning might have been a little cloudy, but by the afternoon, there'd be nothing but sun and warm weather, enticing people out of their rooms to explore and have fun. The break was almost half over, and there was still plenty to do and see!

If you wanted to know why Lex was at the breakfast buffet wearing a strappy dress and a wig, the short answer was that he hadn't actually gone back to his room yet to change.

If you wanted to know more specifically about why he wearing a strappy dress and a wig...Lex couldn't quite remember himself, just that it had involved a lot of glitter.

Cara had found the fitness room, more importantly, she'd found the punching bag in the fitness room.

Of course her temporary less-is-more clothing philosophy, while good for dealing with the heat, meant she'd had to wait long enough to wrap her hands first, instead of gleefully laying into it right away like she would have with her gloves on.

Nathan hadn't gotten a chance to get out much but that was changing right the fuck now. He'd wandered down to the pool, intent on drinking until he passed out while gazing at all the pretty skin that was on display here.

He himself was not showing any skin right now (too skinny, too pale) but he was wearing shorts and a t-shirt with sunglasses covering his eyes while holding a fruity drink. The lounger he was sitting in was really fucking comfortable too.

Yeah, Percy was at the beach. Luke could just stuff it with his claims of him always being there. He liked the water and he wanted to be in it so that's where he was right now.

This wasn't any different than other water he'd been in but it still felt good especially on his warm skin.

Surprise surprise, Ender hadn't stayed late at the carnival yesterday night. Which meant he was up again at a respectable time, hitting the fitness room and going about his usual morning exercise.

Sam wasn't sure why he was down at the beach when he still wasn't really keen on taking his shirt off publicly. But, it did feel good to dig his toes into the sand and the warm sun on his face was nice too.

Maybe he'd go for a swim later. For now, he was just sitting on the beach, arms folded on his knees and eyes closed behind his sunglasses while he relaxed.

"You look like you're enjoying yourself," Ender observed, once he'd hit a break in his exercise schedule and was... well, looking towards what had been making that fists-on-punching-bag noise all this time.

That's also actually a fairly spot-on transcription of my thought-processes this morning!

Natalie took her breakfast on the terrace again, even if she found the swimming pool view a little weird. Whatever, she was barely even looking, anyway. The Psych textbook went well with her breakfast, see.

Shut up, she was getting her reading done now so she could devote the rest of the day to less productive things.

Or something.

Cara shrugged between swings. "Not much else to do," She said.

Beyond some basic exploring to get the lay of the land, she wasn't exactly the tourist type.

"Rio is a little bit lacking in athletics programmes," Ender agreed, since it looked like she was interested in that, at least. "And a little high on partying and drinking."

The way she hadn't actually stopped hitting the bag was probably kind of a clue. "Some carousing has it's place," she replied non-committally, not being much of a party person either. "Mostly when you can choose the company."

"Not a big fan of strange crowds?" Ender asked.

Neither was he, unless you counted the part where you could easily disappear in them.

"I can get back to my business if I'm being a bother that way," he added, not sounding like he'd be particularly insulted if the answer was 'yes'.

Look at Peter! Getting out of his room! Going all the way down to the poolside in his swim trunks to...

... type away on his computer.

Baby steps.

Hanna wasn't quite as awake as she wanted to be, so she stopped by the terrace for some breakfast and, more importantly, a caffeine fix. Coffee was a necessity if she was going to get anything done today. Productivity in this case meant relaxing on the beach later. Yes.
