Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Tuesday - Morning/Afternoon

There were a few clouds in the sky today, but no matter. It was still plenty warm in Rio, with lots to do for those who liked to, well. Do things. And lots of oppurtunities for lazing about for those who favoured a more recumbent sort of vacation.

[ooc: ocd for your threading pleasure: rooms / pérgula restaurant / the pool / the spa / the beach / tijuca forest tours / helicopter tours | ...sigh, weather. this is what happens when you write a post the night before and the weather says "mostly cloudy". WELL BOO ON THAT. ]

Dany rose early, dressing in a light, loose gown before heading to breakfast. She loaded up her plate with anything she didn't recognize, determined to try something, and found herself a table on the terrace. She ate slowly, hiding a few scraps in her napkin. The dragons had to eat, too, even if she wasn't willing to bring them out to be stared at.

Though really, she didn't care. They already clearly thought she was eccentric here.

Dressed in her swimsuit again, Dany found herself a spot on the beach to lay on a towel. She'd go playing in the sea, eventually; for now, she was enjoying the book she'd brought with her, and the warmth of the sun on her bare skin.

She'd be bringing bikinis back with her to Vaes Dothrak, yes. Perhaps not the best for riding, no, but she certainly loved lying around in them.

By now, Cara had proved that she was perfectly capable of wearing her leathers in this heat, but she was willing to concede that continuing to do so mightn't be the best idea, especially as the temperature only seemed to keep rising.

Which was why she was wearing considerably less as she waded waist deep in the water.

Today, with Ben's healing behind him, Ender finally had time to make it down to the beach.

He sat there for a short while, watching the hubub around him - the men and women going about their business of tanning and playing and building sandcastles. It was... interesting, but also made him feel thoroughly alien for the first time in a while.

Eventually, he got up and began to walk along the beach, tracking footsteps in the sand, listening to the tide.

Really, Peter was starting to consider the idea of maybe leaving the hotel sometime this week, just to get an idea of what the people of this time and place were like. He'd have to be a citizen of the world, of course, if he ever got to be Hegemon, so that was important.

Sadly, at the moment, he was just sticking to the idea here, since he still had way too much to do.

So: breakfast, laptop, part two.

If it helped any, Chuck was getting some sideways glances for the balancing act he was playing with the food on his plate. What were buffet style breakfasts for if not having a little of everything on offer?

Seeing Dany made his choice of seating at least that much easier, and he wound his way over once he had everything steady. "Mind some company?"

[[ high chance of SP, buuut still! ]]

Technically, Dave still had time to rethink this plan. Sure, he was holding a surfboard right now, but he wasn't in the water yet. And he definitely wasn't on the board yet.

But he was going to be on it soon with Miley teaching him how to surf. Somehow this seemed like a worse idea now than it did when they first talked about it.

It would be fine. It would be fine.

Shock of shocks, Bruce started the early morning on the treadmill in the fitness room. Yes, that would be happening every day this week.

It wasn't the sea, but if anything had to be a substitute... Kate would choose this.

She'd forgone her morning run in favour of a few laps, but that done had now opted for the far more relaxing option of floating on her back and enjoying the morning sun.

Who said she couldn't relax?

Now this was closer to what Kate was used to. The trees lacked the magically enhanced size of the forests around Atlanta and the ones she'd seen in her own version of South America, but it felt a little familiar all the same.

She was more than comfortable taking a long afternoon to explore the trails and waterfalls.

Having done the forest tour already and knowing full well that he could do something like a helicopter tour whenever he wanted, Bruce decided to finally make an appearance at the beach.

... Where he ended up making notes on chase routes through the city when nobody was looking. He was largely in a work state of mind this week.

Hanna didn't quite make it to the beach today. She opted, instead, to lounge by the pool. Maybe she would actually swim later, too.

The pool was not the beach, but Luke had to work his way up to actually going out there. You know, the place with the big water with all the sea life and psychopaths that could kill him.

...he was never gonna get over Rapture, no.

The pool was also a great place to get a Tequila Sunrise to chase over his hangover from the night before. Booze has been a great helper in the fight to be able to sleep with his ex in the same room.

Matt was back at his spot at the pool. Under the shade of an umbrella he was settled back with a book (Braille of course) and was... studying.

Yes. Matt was doing homework on spring break.

Clearly he knows how to have a good time.

Jace had no idea what time it was in New York but he was gonna be spending his morning texting Alec while nibbling at a plate of food from the breakfast buffet.

And, okay, checking out hot waitresses as well.
